Cooperative Game Bird Program To Continue
Arrangements at the state game farm in Boone aim to produce up to 8000 quail chicks and 20000 pheasant chicks for the 1952 stocking effort. The Conservation Commission ships two week old chicks to cooperating groups to raise to eight or nine weeks. The program, though emphasizing seed stock stocking where needed, mainly serves public relations and environmental aims with leg handed birds for movement and survival studies. Sportsmen groups may obtain application blanks from local conservation officers.

Barrier year seen for kids fish days in 1952
Fisheries officials of the Conservation Commission expect 1952 to be a barrier year for kids fish days and possibly exceed 100 cooperative programs in 1951. Fish days provide fish at no cost to local sponsoring organizations with conservation officers assisting derbys. Applications for 1952 must be received by April. Fish day committees are urged to offer prizes for carp sunfish and other local fishes. Bullhead stock from crowded game waters will be used by the Commission.
