The Smiths then left for California for the winter. Donald and Detmar Dowd visited Tuesday at the Richard Tubaugh home. Wilbur Miller and family spent Christmas at the Ivan Gibbs home near Seymour. Raymond Williams and family joined Mrs. Nellie Williams for Sunday dinner. Richard Ritter and Ricky of Keswick called on Lee Tadlock Sunday evening. Mrs. Cecil Tadlock visited Mrs. Wilbur Miller Monday afternoon. Claude Paris and Maude Col train hosted supper Monday evening.
A county tally of Christmas gatherings lists Coulson and Theo Miller hosting relatives at Cen terville. Mr and Mrs Perry Mikels, the Theo Miller home, and other families including Francis Miller Ray Susan Jane Cynthia Callen Clara Lemaster Vess Hiatt and the Guy Argo family shared meals and visits. additional visits included Herb Roblenz and Cincinnati connections with R J Hook and Davenport guests at the W C Anderson home. Forrest Mericle hosted a family dinner. Gerald Mikels also noted.
Christmas day was shared among W. C. Anderson and family with guests from the Dale Downard and Ernest Hiatt households. The Nelson Ballengers and Otis Ballenger family hosted, while Nancy Roblenz stayed at home from Wednesday to Sunday. Valley Mericle hosted with the Jacobs family, Harry Brown visited, and the Hiatt and Hudgens families attended a post dinner picture gathering. Nelson Ballenger's kin visited Corydon for Christmas dinner, and Jane and Susan Miller stayed with their grandparents the Theo Miller household in Newton.
Mrs Leo Hoffman and several families attended the Christmas program at the Methodist church on Christmas Eve. Others, including Janice Mosley and the Potts family, spent holidays at relatives’ homes. Visitors from Rock Inland and Centerville stopped by, with Leo Hoffman and family visiting Bloomfield and Emery Melton. Richard and Kenneth spent the day with friends in Centerville.
