Several area residents reported colds and flu during the holiday period.
From Friday evening to Saturday evening in Knoxville Mrs Marguerite McCarty and Mr and Mrs Dwayne McCarty and family hosted. Mr and Mrs Ronald Burger Joyce and Jeff of Lakeview joined, spending the weekend with Mrs Vernon Burger and Mrs Cordin Stevenson along with other relatives and friends.

Dinner guests sat with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moore on Saturday including Sam Moore Tona Dotson and fellow visitors. Afternoon callers were Denny Fenton and Joey. Des Moines and Centerville residents surfaced in gatherings. many Burkland, Hedgecock, Weilbrenner and Houser families attended. A Christmas dinner Friday night hosted by Terry and Cullors saw Lester Gorden, Dan Vermillion, Julie Ghio, Clover and more join at their home.
The Hedgecock and Selix households hosted extended family Christmas suppers and dinners. Lloyd Selix and relatives joined Mr and Mrs Roger Selix, Mr and Mrs Kenneth Selix, and others for holiday meals. Red Spring hosted a Christmas dinner for Slay and Forte families and their kin. Duty hosts and visitors included Mr and Mrs Joe Moore and additional relatives.
Attendance at Sunday School stood at 20. Many local families shared Christmas celebrations and dinners at multiple homes including Harold Huff, Catherine Beaty, Beulah Adams, Lowell and Gene Mitchell, and the Bob Mitchell home. A Christmas exchange occurred at several households and a North Bend church shower is planned for Peggy Pettibone and Bobby Mitchell on January 9.
The Board met December 6 1976 at 9:00 a.m. with chairman Kermitt Strickler and members Arthur M. Streepy and Doyle N. Anderson present. Absent none. Minutes from November 19 approved. Claims processed including General Fund Bankers Thetaing Company car markings 1252.22.
