Paul and Susanne Turner celebrate a three month old baby boy moving in after adoption, completing the red tape this week. Moravia Christmas decorations shine on homes and streets as the season returns with festive displays.
A family writes of holiday cheer and busy preparations including festive home decor, Christmas cards, and upcoming travel. They will depart Friday for Chicago then fly with 250 others to Majorca, spending eight days with layovers in Madrid and Algiers. The trip redirects from Des Moines to Chicago due to aircraft needs, with buses from Ottumwa to O’Hare and a 245 passenger list to date.
A reader voices concern about the type of airplane used for a large group on a long westward trip. They discourage experimental ventures and note travel brochures’ fine print. They suggest the travel agency as mere agent and question flight insurance options with a wary tone.
Attendance at Sunday School was 18. The group donated to the Salvation Army. Merle Adams and Harold Huff visited, as did Lewis Beaty with Kenny Martins and Glen McNair. Melvin Weldon drowned at Waimea Bay Hawaii. his funeral was in Knoxville. Activities included a Christmas exchange, photos from New Jersey, and future plans with Edith Beaty.
Mrs Earl Swift and family hosted an oyster supper at the Coy Swift home while Marion Allen visited Kenneth and Donald Calhoun. Several families including Eastlicks Walters Huffs and Caldouns shared dinners and social calls across Moravia Elston Ottumwa and surrounding homes during a busy midweek and weekend gathering season.
Epent Suntay at Regioe Argos. Delbert Calhoun spent Sunday afternoon with Kenneth and Donald Calhoun. Mike Eastlick spent the weekend with Mrs. Bill Liggett.
