Oil Drilling Shifts to Raymond Vance Farm Site

Soap Creek Development Company moved its oil well drilling from Unionville north site to the Raymond Vance farm in Urbana township about four miles away. As of Tuesday, work at the new location was progressing with directors led by Clifford Burger and Jim McAninch. The group spent roughly $35,000 on initial test drilling after finding a large void, and expects about $25,000 more for the new site. Previous Unionville testing yielded live oil at 1,223 feet but likely 1–4 barrels per day, below profitable levels of 10. The new area is deemed promising after professional studies.
