Moravia merchants sponsor three Saturday drawings with two time slots 2:30 and 3:40 p.m. Three turkeys given each slot for six winners. Participants must register in the Coulson and Burton office before drawing. only school age residents in the Moravian trade area and registered visitors are eligible.
The Moravia Booster Club and Garden Club sponsor a town and country Christmas home lighting and decorating contest. Judges visit from 8:30 to 10:80 each night Dec 16 25. Entry contact Mrs Ira Boyer Mrs Dan Mihalovich or Mrs Bill Woodward by Dec 15. Winners announced in the Union on Dec 19.

Daren Tubaugh six months old, son of Mr and Mrs Ray Tubaugh, was discharged to his Bloomfield home Friday after five days in Davis County hospital, recuperating from pneumonia.
Ralph Robinson was brought to his home Saturday from Monroe county hospital in Albia to recuperate from virus pneumonia.
The ETC club met Thursday afternoon with Mrs Clifford Paxston presiding. A call was answered and the entertainment featured games with prizes won by Mrs Karl Tuttle Mrs John Guthrey and Mrs Lee Hiatt. Mrs Tuttle drew the door prize.
Dr and Mrs Gene Phillips of Des Moines visited Rev and Mrs LaVerne Smith and Mrs O G Woodward on Monday. George Dew of Gladbrook spent Sunday with Ted Campbell. Callers on J T Van Dorin included Fred Brain and Ray McCloud. Guests with Dan Mihalovich over the weekend included Tony Shragal Steve of Detroit and Al Chebuhar with John Young from Washington Iowa for a funeral and family visits. Lowell VanDorin and family saw J T VanDorin on Saturday. Children are fine.
Plan to sell seed requires complete official seed tests by a seed laboratory under the Federal Seed Act. County Extension Director Harold Holder and Iowa State University seed lab official L. E. Everson urge thorough testing including purity, noxious weed check, and germination. Labels must reflect full test results for all seed types.

Mrs. Birdie Main serves as superintendent at 9 30 am Sunday service with communion at 10 30 am on Sunday. A Wednesday afternoon meeting is scheduled and will be held at Birdie Main's home.

Services include 11:00 a.m. morning worship 6:45 p.m. young peoples service and an evening evangelistic service. The Christian Women's Fellowship met Thursday afternoon with President Mrs Maude Coltrain. Service began with prayer and scripture. Roll call named a missionary. Mrs Birdie Main led worship and the treasurer reported. Coltrain led the lesson on Ministry to Special Needs through the National Benevolence Association with other members assisting. CWF benediction closed.
The Moravia F.F.A. basketball team visited Albia for a Wednesday evening game against the Albia F.F.A. squad.
The VanDorin Christmas reunion co op dinner and exchange will be at the Farm Bureau hall in Albia on Sunday December 18. All brothers sisters and families are urged to attend with Mrs Flora Jones as hostess.
Citizens are invited to donate Butternut coffee strips for the Legion Auxiliary Christmas project. Drop off at Spencers Nadine and Georges Allens or the Corner Cafe. Please ensure items arrive by December 15 for use in the food program.
The December Mooravia Masonic lodge dinner was served at 6:30 p.m. by Jack Long Carl Hiatt Del Brede and Trenton Wilson. After the meal the lodge elected officers for the coming year including Robert Potts Master James Wilson Senior Warden Jack Long Junior Warden P K Horner Treasurer Harold Mason Secretary and Trenton Wilson Trustee.
AB Richard V Main son of Carl and Vera Main of El Monte California began basic training in the Air Force on November 20 at Lackland AFB Texas. He attended Moravia school in 1956 while living with his uncle and aunt Mr and Mrs Johnny Main. His address lists AF 19755298 FLT 1687 Box 1808 Lackland AFB Texas.
The Shanghai club met November 28 with Doris Christy at a co op diner. Members included Gerald Lorraine Sheila Rinehart Bert Hazel Rinehart Amy Clarence Floyd Hiner Gilbert Edith Callen Esther Perry Iole Christy Addie Sheldon Doris N Paul Christy Dorothy Calhoun Marilyn Rusty Kirkland Wayne Doris Christy and others. They worked on tearing carpet rags, patching overalls, sent a card to Velda Brown in Albio hospital, and Hazel Rinehart won a prize. The Christmas party is set for December 14 at the school house with mystery grab bag gifts and popcorn and candy. the next club meeting will be December 12 with Iole Christy.
Reverend Lester Hamilton, longtime worker at South India Bible Institute, will speak and show slides about his work during mid week services on December 12 at 7 30 p m at Grace Methodist Church Moravia. The public is invited to attend.
The Twentieth Century Reading Club met Tuesday with Mrs Clar ence Johnson for their regular monthly gathering. Mrs Marshall Perry chaired as program began with club song, roll call on the worst storm, reports from secretary and treasurer, a business session, an Alaska article by Mrs John Dodd, and a talk on Uncle Sam's Layaway Gift plan. There were 16 members and a guest from Chugwater, Wyoming.

Moravia swept Twin Cedars in Tuesday night action as the girls won 59 to 20 and the boys 81 to 45. Joan Main led the girls with 21 points followed by Mosley 20 and Rose Blumer 13 as Moravia built a 21-10, 30-23, 47-27, 59-30 lead progression. Jay Taylor led the Mohawks boys with 27 points, Van Zante 25, Ellison 10, and others adding.
Clara Anna Cox Weidman aged 65 died Monday evening December 3 at 6 00 pm at the O Donnell Nursing Home Russell after a two and a half week illness She was born February 22 1897 in Moravia the daughter of James A and Elizabeth Cox She married Freeman Weidman on June 8 1922 in a double wedding with her sister Ruth They had a daughter in 1926 who died in infancy He died in 1959 She moved from Moravia to Minnesota in 1930 and lived in Worthington Funeral services Thursday December 6 at 2 pm at the Turner funeral home with Rev Elton Coleman officiating Burial in the Moravia cemetery
Crowded stands watched Moravia Mohawks win 62 34 as the Moravia girls led from start to finish. Rose Blymer scored 18, Joan Main 17, Nancy Mosley 22, with Lois Strunk and Peggy Rogers strong for the Mawhawkette squad. Russell was led by Jay Taylor and Charles VanZante with 18 each.
The Moravia Garden club met Wednesday with Mrs. Gerald Morgan for the annual cooperative dinner and Christmas gathering. Twenty members and two guests, Mrs. Fred Brain of Chugwater Wyoming and Mrs. John Hayward of Marshalltown, attended. Plans for the Dec. 1 holiday fair at the community building were discussed.
Postmaster Don Pettibone urges timely Christmas mailouts with a December 15 deadline for distant destinations. Local post office stocks abundant red and green four cent stamps, reported to be more used than any special issue.
