Shanghai club meets with Christy and notes decorum

The Shanghai club met November 28 with Doris Christy at a co op diner. Moravia swept Twin Cedars in Tuesday night action as the girls won 59 to 20 and the boys 81 to 45. Joan Main led the girls with 21 points followed by Mosley 20 and Rose Blumer 13 as Moravia built a 21-10, 30-23, 47-27, 59-30 lead progression. Clara Weidman 65 Dies in Russell Home

Clara Anna Cox Weidman aged 65 died Monday evening December 3 at 6 00 pm at the O Donnell Nursing Home Russell after a two and a half week illness She was born February 22 1897 in Moravia the daughter of James A and Elizabeth Cox She married Freeman Weidman on June 8 1922 in a double wedding with her sister Ruth They had a daughter in 1926 who died in infancy He died in 1959 She moved from Moravia to Minnesota in 1930 and lived in Worthington Funeral services Thursday December 6 at 2 pm at the Turner funeral home with Rev Elton Coleman officiating Burial in the Moravia cemetery

Crowded stands watched Moravia Mohawks win 62 34 as the Moravia girls led from start to finish. Rose Blymer scored 18, Joan Main 17, Nancy Mosley 22, with Lois Strunk and Peggy Rogers strong for the Mawhawkette squad. Russell was led by Jay Taylor and Charles VanZante with 18 each.

Garden Club Hosts Christmas Meeting at Moravia

The Moravia Garden club met Wednesday with Mrs. Gerald Morgan for the annual cooperative dinner and Christmas gathering.
