J H McCauley celebrated his 90th birthday at his Moravia home on December 4. A longtime livestock and auctioneering figure, he has deep ties across Appanoose and surrounding counties. Born in Ohio, he moved to Iowa in childhood, lived in Iconium and Unionville, and settled in Moravia forty years ago. He married Mattie Dean in 1867. she is deceased. He now lives with daughter Stella Reich as a wide circle of friends honors him with a birthday dinner and well wishes for many more birthdays.
