The Ward Grocer team split a week in the local bowling league, losing to Hellyer Durocs for their first defeat this season and then beating Turner Lumbermen to set a high team score. Captain Norman Ward led with a 165 average, Dale Perry had 158, and the squad totaled 2,420 pins for a 161 team average. Raymond Silas Chority Passes After Ill Health
Raymond Silas Chority of Mystic born July 1 1882 in Monroe county Iowa. He worked as a blacksmith in Moulton for a decade before marrying Lee Etta Walker on February 24 1909. He lived in Mystic since 1920, suffered paralyzing strokes, and died November 19 after a final attack. He left a wife two sons DeLoss and Dallas, three grandchildren, sisters, and other relatives. He was active in Moravia and Moulton Bands and Moravia Methodist Church serving as Sunday School superintendent and choir member. The community mourns a loyal husband father friend and Christian.
