Tragic Farm Accident Claims Albia Boy at 14
William Love 14 son of Mr and Mrs Delbert Love of Albia was killed when the farm tractor he rode with friend Colin Edwards overturned and pinned him under the hood near Albia on August 23. Edwards survived and was treated at Monroe county hospital. Billy Love born February 4 1947 in Albia died at age 14 years 6 months 19 days. He was to begin his freshman year at Albia high school and had joined football activities. He was loved by family and many friends and leaves his parents grandparents and numerous relatives in Albia and area.

Donald West Wins Angus Heifer at State Fair
Donald West attended the State Fair with a busy program. He helped in a safety demonstration in the 4-H dorm dining hall, showed four market lambs that earned blue ribbons, was a finalist in the sheep showmanship contest, and was elected a director of the South Central district of the Junior Angus Association. He placed 16th with his steer, acted as time-keeper in the 4-H tractor rodeo, and sold his market lambs while receiving an Angus heifer presented by the American Angus Association, the Iowa Angus Association, and the fair board. the heifer will be displayed in the 4-H beef barn this week.
