Joe A. Beer, chairman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee, announced 1963 corn price support loans averaging $1.04 per bushel in Appangose county. The total price support rate, including an 18 cent special payment, equals $1.22 per bushel for the 1963 crop, up from $1.18 in 1962. Farmers must participate in the 1963 feed grain program for 1983 crop price support, with loans, purchase agreements, and special payments composing the total support.
The price support payment for each farm's 1963 corn is 18 cents per bushel on normal production. Premiums and discounts stay as 1962. All 1963 corn production from participating farms can be included in the price support loan, with loans open from harvest to May 31, 1964 and maturing July 31, 1964.
Appanoose county will support 1963 crop soybeans at 2.22 dollars per bushel for No 2 grazing soybeans with moisture not over 14 percent. Joe A Beer, chairman of the ASCS county committee, announced the rate, unchanged from 1962. Eligibility mirrors Grade No 4 requirements aside from moisture limits.
The 1962 crop soybeans will be carried out through loans and purchase agreements through harvest to January 31, 1964. The loan maturity for the 1963 crop was extended to July 31 to give farmers more time in the final marketing period. Strong domestic and export demand has kept prices above lean price supports, encouraging higher production and boosting farm income.
