Postmaster J. D. Minnes reports Moravia sold war bonds in July totaling 3 712 dollars at the local post office. The month pushes Moravia’s 1942 total toward 20 000 dollars since January 1 with 86 bonds at 25 each 21 at 50 each 20 at 100 and one at 1000. Moravia residents have pledged about 13 000 for 1942 and a strong July is seen as a sign the year will meet the goal.

Centerville Teachers Exams In Progress For Retakes

Gary Kosman six year old son of Mr and Mrs Harry Kosman of north of Moravia was critically hurt Thursday afternoon July 30 when the mower his father operated tangled with his clothing and drew the boy into the blades. He was playing among tall weeds and was not seen by his father as the team approached the spot. The boy was taken to Miners hospital in Albia for treatment of bone lacerations and severed tendons.
