Mildred Miller Taken Friday at St Josephs
Mildred Miller a Centerville high school junior and 16 year old, died after a heart attack at St Joseph hospital. She was born in Unionville Iowa and moved to Centerville with her parents. Funeral services were held at Centerville Methodist church with interment at Oakland cemetery.

Cameron Coulson wed in Knoxville Methodist church
Marjorie Cameron daughter of Mr and Mrs T B Cameron and Cecil Coulson son of Mr and Mrs L Coulson both of Moravia were married at the Methodist Episcopal church in Knoxville on Monday August 1. The Rev T C Kennedy officiated. They were joined by the bride’s sister and brother in law Harold and Mrs Burton. The bride wore a beige lace dress with navy accessories. Mrs Burton wore wine crepe with navy accessories. Mrs Coulson is a graduate of Glenwood High School and attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College Kirksville and the University of Oregon. She taught in Glenwood Bussey Town Newton and will be third grade instructor in Newton’s Washington school. Mr Coulson is in the real estate and insurance firm McFatridge Coulson. The couple will honeymoon in the west and Canada and will reside in Moravia after September first.

Arthur McKern Injured In Automobile Accident
Two injured and four bruised in an Ames Iowa crash Sunday July 24 involving Arthur McKern and Art Parthing party returning from a fishing trip. The collision at a cross road east of Ames caused Arthur McKern and a child to be thrown from the car. Arthur required twelve stitches and remained in hospital until Wednesday evening.

George Hellyer pitched his first softball game for the Moravia All-Stars, defeating Stewart-Warner of Centerville while teammates collected eight hits and eight runs. Hellyer, a high school pitcher, teamed with Underwood who moved from mound to left field. Minor preliminaries saw Moravia seconds topple a Main Station and Hilton squad 14 to 3.
