Moravia prepares for its 40th annual festival with plans speeding up five weeks out. A meeting for festival participants is set for Thursday night at 8:30 in the community building, with business leaders expected. Events include Golden Wedding Day, home talent acts, a pulling contest, Farm Bureau Day, amateur contests, a Legion Day nearing dedication of new stars on the community service flag, and a WHO radio talk if available.

Captain Kenneth Plummer, squadron navigator with the 491st bomb group of the ETO, arrived in the United States July 11 after 29 missions over Germany and France. He was awarded the Air Medal, three Oak Leaf Clusters, five battle stars, and the Presidential Unit Citation. He organized a band in England that grew to 14 men and was named the Rhythm Bomb Shells.
