Kincade Dies in California Motorcycle Crash

A 27 year old Herbert Kincade of Solana Beach formerly of Centerville Moravia died in a head on collision on the San Diego Los Angeles highway near Oceanside Monday night. He was riding a motorcycle when hit by Joseph Spray of Los Angeles who faces drunken driving charges. Kincade was in California about a year. his parents are Mrs. Tom Morrison of Centerville and Mr. and Mrs. A W Kincade of Moravia. The body will be returned to the county for burial.

Frank Nichols lifelong resident and farmer northwest of Moravia died at his home after weeks of ill health. Born April 24 1865 he died July 28 1934 at age 69 years 6 months 4 days. He married Nora Woodcock February 20 1895. Survived by wife and one sister Mrs Wilt Tutsle of Upland California. Prairie Fire Burns 80 Acres on Darby Farm

A prairie fire last Saturday afternoon burned 80 acres on the Hoy Derby farm northeast of Moravis. Origin unknown, it spread through fences and a 1 acre hay field ready for cutting on Monday. Local men fought the blaze with water and dirt, preventing deeper damage.

Fatal Illness Ends Albia Doctor F R Castles

Albia physician Dr F R Castles died at Iowa Methodist hospital Des Moines after a four month illness. He was 62. Funeral services were held at Albia Methodist Church with burial in Oak View cemetery. He had lived in Albia since 1922 after earlier practice in Dallon and Moravia.

Boosters Headed to Mystic 4 H Club Show

Mystic residents traveled in several cars to Moravia on a booster trip to promote the Mystic 4 H Club show scheduled four days next week Wednesday through Saturday August 2021. The Hill Billy Band accompanied them and provided entertainment while the group handed out advertising. Many locals plan to attend.

Abraham Henry McDanel dies at 79 in Centerville Iowa

Abraham Henry McDanel born Indiana June 14 1856 died July 17 in Centerville Iowa aged 79 years one month twelve days. He lived most of life with family at Main Station until his mother passed and then with his brother D R McDanel. Survived by four brothers and two sisters. Services held at Main Station church with Pastor HE Trimhiz officiating. Burial in Main Station cemetery.
