Students from both boys and girls teams competed Saturday showing focus and effort in running events. Girls earned 2nd place among 18 schools as spectators noted fatigue and team aid after long races while surrounding stories touched on 1967 Israel events and a Baton New Mexico newspaper critique of U S coverage and missile aid debates.
Marilyn Barker visited the neighborhood Monday. Mr and Mrs Russell Shepard were supper guests with Mr and Mrs Ernest Hiatt Wednesday evening. The Hiatts hosted guests Thursday evening. Boris Boblenz and Golda Hiatt attended WSCS at Flora Hiatt's Thursday. Roberta Hiatt visited Washington on Thursday and the John Hiatt home hosted a clothing party. Several callers visited Elsie and Lillian Callen during the week including Doris Boblenz Mae McDonald Minta Shoemaker Juanita van Rev Be Guelien and Tom Tradis of Moines. Judy Ballanger Doris Boblenz Mae McDonald and Golda Hiatt attended the Lay Witness coffee at Clella Free's Saturday. Ravena Nebraska residents enjoy a series of Sunday visits with neighbors and relatives. Edna and J D Downard weekended at Bill Anderson’s, who was hospitalized Sunday evening hoping for a speedy recovery. Local meetings and socials include Eva Tucker at a Delta Kappa Gamma gathering and co hosting Lay Witnesses coffee. Theo Miller attends church supper and various club events with Hiatt and Daniels families.

The Appanoose County Board of Supervisors held a regular meeting April 20 1972 at 5 00 PM with Doyle N Anderson chairing and Carl A Ivang and Arthur M Streepy as members. Minutes from April 3 1972 were approved. The board then approved numerous claims for general fund and other county accounts, including supplies, services, and courthouse expenses, with several entries for soldiers graves care and public works.
