Reading revenue figures on licenses, officials on vacation led to restricted access at state owned Wapello Lake Sunday. Many anglers found the park closed and the lake very low, with boats and swimming areas unusable until rainfall raises water levels.
Moravia villagers rejoice as rain returns and wells flood, allowing renewed washing and watered yards after ten months of drought. Early this week residents report going home to bathe and clean vehicles amid muddy streets, with about an inch of rain falling over Monday to Wednesday in a drizzly pattern. The state conservation commission grows in activity as water returns to the area.
A birthday supper at Claude Paris home honored Peggy Luse visiting from the Paris home. Numerous relatives and friends, including Glen Stephenson Becky Fern Engle and Timmy Bennett, attended. Other gatherings included dinners at Russell Tubaughs near Belle Plaine and a family reunion at Lee Dawson’s near Albia.
Udell and surrounding residents hosted visits and meals with many relatives during Easter week. Birth announced for Sam Ross Argo in Carbonado Washington with family news. Attends church services and school events featured. McPherson College choir performed at Udell, drawing large audience and offerings.

Dick Johnson and Vern Johnson, with their family, spent Sunday at the Tren ton McDanes home. Mr and Mrs Herbert Main visited Saturday night with his brother Gaylord Main and family.
