Mr and Mrs Lewis Main visited Mrs Stella Carter and Mrs Mary Hoskins on Thursday afternoon. They were en route from Beacon and Oskaloosa to their LaPlata Missouri home. Mr and Mrs Steve Brown and Mr and Mrs O D DuValle spent Sunday with relatives in Princeton Missouri. The Browns daughter Jennie Nelson and grandson Stevie joined them for the trip.
Proceedings show March 22 1945 adjourned session with bids for grading 1.60 miles in Taylor Township and 1.35 miles in Independence Township. Central Construction Company low bid accepted for Taylor work. Board authorizes railway trustees Fleming and Connon to construct specified highway crossings for relocation of railroad line in Appanoose County.
A long county resolution describes multiple road realignments and grade crossings. It specifies relocation of east west highways around Sections 24 26 34 and 11, new creosoted timber bridges over relocated railways, precise curves tangents and grades, roadway widths of 24 feet, and approach grades from 2 percent to 12 percent. It assigns supervision to Appanoose County engineer and notes continuation next week.
