Gone with the Wind film judged against the book
A critic reflects on Gone with the Wind noting the film’s artistry yet finds the cinematic version short of Mitchell’s novel. Scarlett is less admirable on screen, while Vivien Leigh and Olivia de Havilland give stronger portrayals. The piece also mentions Rhett and the Cummins couple celebrating their 56th anniversary by seeing the film.
