Taylor Aid Plans Kalona Trip After Easter Meeting

Taylor Aid held a regular meeting with 14 members present on Friday. Alberta Spencer and Elaine Spencer led the session. Easter hats were worn as the Kalona trip was scheduled for April 29 at 7 am. A door prize went to Doris, gifts were exchanged for secret pals, and a $2 donation to the Cancer Society was approved. Macrame hangings were shown with Vickie in charge.

TOPS Chapter Installs New Officers at Grace Church

Garden Club Meets with Beverly Nielsen

The Moravia Garden Club met at Mrs. Beverly Nielsen's home on March 30 with co host Mrs. Amy Gidel. Sybil Whitehead resigned as president due to her accident and Mrs. Delores Burkland was elected to finish the term while Mrs. Gidel became vice president. The group planned four tree plantings including two in the city park for Arbor Day and assistance to the Boy Scouts in locating blue bird houses. Virginia McDonough shared ideas for NAS fall flower show arrangements. The next meeting is set for April 27 at 1 30 PM at Mrs. Margaret Callen's home.

Wilson Receives Speech Honors at State Contest

Past Matrons Meet With Marlyn Robinson

Past Matrons Club met Monday evening with Mrs. Billy Robinson to plan the coming School of Instruction and Inspection night on April 23. A luncheon was set for 11 30 a.m. with guests officers and Past Matrons. Mrs Robinson and daughter Billie served refreshments of salad wafers doughnuts mints coffee and punch.

Jeffrey Selby dies in Pekin area car crash

Jeffrey H. Selby, 17, a Dee Mack High School senior, died on arrival at Pekin Memorial Hospital after a car accident in Pekin Illinois. Services were held April 6 at Haensel Funeral Home Mackinaw. He was born July 6, 1959 in Bloomington. Survived by Hiatt and H M Johnston Selby, mother and father, maternal grandfather Cecil Johnston of Des Moines, and aunts Velma Johnson, Mary Main and Bill Barnes.

Mrs. Carl Tisue visited Neal Burton home in Washington Iowa with her mother Mrs. Grant Tadlock returning to Moravia. Several relatives visited the Burton home and attended a school musical Fiddler on the Roof. Many neighbors visited the Bill Robinson home, and others joined services for Cleo's brother Norine Cloyed. The Iowa District Bible Quiz held at First Church of the Nazarene in Iowa City on Saturday April 2 saw the central team led by Sherry Main and Lona Gladfelder win.
