Mazel Elizabeth Swaim died near Drakesville Iowa March 30 1927 at age 18. She was born August 21 1911 near Unionville Iowa and grew up in Unionville and Drakesville. She attended Unionville Baptist Church and Methedist Sunday School in Drakesville and belonged to the Anna Clark circle. She finished eighth grade at Drakesville and later attended Hoombfield High School. She was survived by her parents Olive sister Basil two grandfathers grandmothers and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Drakesville Methodist church with Rev Luther Childs and Rev Brunmer officiating and burial in Unionville cemetery.

Hannah Matilda MeKern daughter of John and Carolina McKern was born in Henry County Iowa August 25 1846 and died at her home in Moravia Iowa March 30 1927 aged 80 years 7 months. She moved to Rovanoose county in 1856 and married Jacob Graham April 10 1868. Survived by two children John W Des Moines and Gillie G Cedar Rapids and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She joined the Christian Church about 1872 and remained a faithful member, finding solace in visits and prayers during illness.

Glen Coltrain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Coltrain, died March 31 at home near Moravia after measles and pneumonia. A Moravia High School sophomore and former freshman, he earned friends and respect in the community. Interment was in Moravia cemetery after services at the Christian Church. He leaves a brother Emery Linden and sisters Daphan Marie and Edith Arlene, plus grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral for Moravia Woman Brings Choir to Salem Cemetery
The departed, who desired quiet and relief from long suffering, asked not to be troubled and wished to go. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Moravia on Friday afternoon April 1. A select choir sang, with Rev. York of Mysth and Rev. O. J. Fix assisting. The burial followed at Salem cemetery.

Centerville area reports a new company, the Success Barber Supply Company of Moravia, planning spring construction to meet rising demand for Smooth O filler. M. H. Johnson, longtime barber, devised a compound to sharpen razors. B. L. Wilson helped test it, and word spread nationwide including British Columbia. The firm foresees a factory and expanded manufacturing to serve barbers.
