The Moravia area features six pairs of twins at Moravia Elementary with varied grades and parent residences in Moravia Unionville and Centerville. In addition a Moravia High School senior class pair, Larry and Linda Irwin, are noted as twins.

Moravia OES Holds School of Instruction

The Moravia Order of Eastern Stars conducted a school of instruction on Thursday at 12 30 with Mrs Mary Herron presiding and Mrs Eva Winger as district instructor. Five star points honored and a dinner for 23 followed at the Evangelical United Brethren church.

Blumer Promoted to Specialist Five in Vietnam

Leland L Blumer 22 son of Mr and Mrs Don Blumer Uniorville Texas promoted to Army specialist five March 10 in Vietnam where he serves with the Lt Logistics Command as a truck driver in the commands 10th Transportation Company near Long Binh He last was stationed at Ft Hood Texas and arrived overseas in August 1966 He is a 1964 Moravia high school graduate.

Mrs Cridlebaugh Visits Relatives In Des Moines

Mrs. Alva Cridlebaugh returned home after a week with her daughter Ruby Davis and family in Des Moines. Mrs. Davis is now employed with the State Conservation Commission. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Long and Vanessa, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Long, Marie and Jay spent the weekend with Larry Long at LeClaire, Iowa.

Unionville Iowa church ends a week of Hal Webb Evangelistic Team services with nightly gospel music led by Rev Theron Babcock on organ and piano and Mike Stockton performing guitar and singing. Census Bureau hires local residents for Iowa survey

Eleven local residents are among about 25,000 Iowa interviewers hired by the U S Census Bureau for a Home Fallout Protection Survey conducted for the Iowa Civil Defense Office. Interviewers will call on households in Appanoose County and use a computer to assess basement fallout protection.

Lynch Named NYC Coordinator for Monroe Appanoose

Mrs Dan Lynch of Albia has been hired as coordinator of the Neighborhood Youth Corps program for Monroe and Appanoose counties. She will administer NYC activities, act as liaison between 13 work stations and the Economic Opportunity office in Albia, and interview candidates this week. The program aims to place 148 youths from low income families, ages 16 to 21.

They met the 6500 dollar goal with additional costs anticipated, hoping for another 500 dollars to cover equipment for summer teams. E T C Club at Kincades

Ten members of the ETC club met Friday with Blanche Kincade for an afternoon session. Prizes went to Merle Miller and Louemma Palmer, with Blanche Kincade receiving the traveling prize. Florence Carson led the games and the down prize was drawn by Merle Miller. Refreshments followed. Next meeting is April 13 at Ruth Wilsons. Zeling Megrew attended as a former member and Florence Carson hosted an overnight guest. The Broshars were called to Des Moines for their daughter-in-law’s illness, Ronald Broshar’s wife, who is improving.
