Union Service On Good Friday

Moravia high school opened the baseball season Tuesday by defeating Exline 7 to 1. Pitcher George Hellyer limited Exline to three hits while Lemaster caught behind the plate. Moravia committed three errors to Exline’s six as they prepare to play games at Bishop lot near the Milwaukee depot due to school grounds landscaping.

Taylor township received a superior rating at the Achievement Day meeting of Appanoose county Farm Bureau women at Centerville's Methodist church. Farewell Bridge Party For Moving Coffins

The Temple couple Mr and Mrs John Temple celebrated fifty years of marriage with open house at their Moravia home on Friday March 31 with fifty attendees. Family friends and neighbors enjoyed social hours while Tom Philby performed a vocal piece with guitar and Carol Broshar sang two songs.

Golden wedding vows mark Moravia couple's 60 years

Nancy E. Campbell and John Temple wed March 31 1889 at the home of Justice Eugene Horner in Moravia. They lived most of their married life in or near Moravia with seven years in Wyoming. Born Temple in Hamilton Iowa 1861 and Campbell in Wapello County, they have a son Ernest and two grandchildren, John Edward and Helen Jean Temple. Guests included numerous relatives and friends led by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Temple and daughter Helen Jean of Naperville Ill, and many Campbells and local residents.

Parent-Teacher Group Elects Officers at Monday Meeting

The next Parent-Teacher Association meeting will be held at the school building Monday, April 10, at 7 30 o clock. Officers will be elected and the program includes dramatization by the primary class safety songs by grades three and four directed by Mrs Wilbur Harris articles by Mrs Paul Broshar and Mrs C M McFatridge a vocal duet by Ray Pierce and Bruce Gardner a talk and picture on tuberculosis by county nurse Miss Agnes O Leary and other items. Mrs Chester Broshar hosted the Progressive club Friday with three tables of bridge. High score went to Mrs Wm Young and Mrs Lester Brain won the traveling prize. Guests included Mrs C M McFatridge Mrs C Coulson and Mrs Emil Halden. Refreshments were served.
