Karla Kay Stocker five months old daughter of Mr and Mrs Carl Stocker of Rt 1 Freeport Illinois died in her sleep Monday April 2 at the parents home. Born prematurely September 23 at St Frances hospital death due to a faulty heart valve. Services were held Wednesday afternoon in Freeport. Construction on several houses began in Moravia this week. A basement was dug for the home of Mr and Mrs John Sharp one block south of the town park between Ivan Walter and late Orph Taylor houses. Golden wedding anniversary dinner for A L Dawkins

Appanoose county courthouse received new aluminum and glass double doors at all four entrances. A new gas heating system replaced reliance on the Town Southern Utilities electric Plant. The court library was completed on the third floor south end of the courtroom. Lester Punk Strunk of Union township east of Moravia announces his candidacy for the Appanoose County Board of Supervisors for the 1964 term on the Democratic ticket.
