The newly elected Mayor and town officials were sworn in, with Dr BD Orelup named clerk Kenneth Paxcon treasurer and park caretaker, Gene Jordan marshal and cemetery caretaker, Lew Hiner night watchman. An ordinance licensing pools and billiard halls was passed. R N McDonough granted license to operate billiard hall effective Hive April Lth.

Moravia High School Normal Training Department held a Homecoming Saturday evening March 91 with alumni and staff reuniting. Guests toured the Normal training room, then the gym housed a program featuring Welcome and readings. Entertainment included a play, reading, and humor as the Easter color scheme of yellow and white framed the hour.

Dan Wolfe died at an Ottumwa hospital Sunday night. Funeral services were held and burial made in the Moravia cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Wolfe had been a resident of Moravia for many years and was known for various occupations, most recently as a painter and paper hanger.
Mrs Myrtle Belle Morgan sister of J L Johnson of Moravia died Monday morning in Rochester Minnesota. Her remains will be brought to Moravia for funeral services at the Methodist church at 2:00 PM with C Behrens in charge. Burial will be in Moravia cemetery. She is a former resident of Wyoming. An obituary will appear in the Union at a later date.
The annual Odd Fellows egg roast held last Friday evening was a very enjoyable affair for guests including the writer. Guests heard about the tall egg eating claims of Preston Hiatt and others, but witnessed their skill firsthand as they stored away many eggs. George Johnson led the cooking with Charley Jones Bob Stoops Eli Lawrance and others aiding. The group kept the eggs hot and properly boiled with two hours often cited as safe. The event extended into a late hour and a bridge game followed at the ball venue with ten tables in play.
Mr and Mrs Ira C Callen mark fifty years of marriage with a family gathering at their home on Tuesday March 20 about thirty relatives attended with baskets of food to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary and recall memories from five decades together.
In Taylor township a large gathering gathered to celebrate decades of marriage for Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Callen. Attendees included Edie Reba Ardis Glee Ted Miller Clarence Dowd and many relatives and friends who extended wishes for health happiness and continued harmony. A poem by Neil Wilson Roumeau honored the couple noting fifty years of steadfast partnership and pioneer spirit.
Foster-Lindley Miss Josephine Foster daughter of Milo Foster and Fred Lindley son of Mr and Mrs J R Lindley of Moulton were united in marriage on Friday March 30 at 3 30 in the M B parsonage at Ville. Rev Frank A Wilder read the single ring ceremony. They were attended by Dorothy Lou Dodd Clifford Spain and Milo Foster. The bride, a Mor ning High School graduate, teaches at Grant school. The groom, a Moulton High School graduate, farms. They will reside on a farm one mile north of Sedan after April 18.
The menu features chicken and noodles, plated with potato and gravy, buttered bread, carrots, green beans, pickles, and cabbage. beverages include buttered biscuits and side dishes, with emphasis on hearty home style fare.

Institute planned at Albia Presbyterian church Thursday at 7 30 p m with Dr Clyde Stunts. he has served as a missionary in Africa and India and is on furlough. Wesley Sunday School at 10 20 a m. morning worship at 9 30 led by Pastor J G Behrens.
The United Brethren Church lists Sunday School at 10 a.m. with M. H. Johnson as Superintendent, morning worship at 11, Christian Endeavor at 8:50 p.m., and evening service at 7:30. A Wednesday prayer meeting is held at the Coffin home. The pastor is W. Beaton, and a Pentecost quotation from Acts is cited.

Chariton male chorus directed by Loyd H. Mikesall will sing at 8 pm Friday in Albin Church. The 16-voice group from Chariton plans a familiar program in the town venue, inviting local residents to attend the concert.
