A revised Moravia Community school district proposal narrows the district northward to the road east and west from Hilton church and omits areas in Urbana township. It adds part of Scott district in Douglas township and moves to seek joint approval from Appanoose and Monroe boards. A public hearing is scheduled for April 15 with a map and legal description in this issue.

Moravia firefighters aided Centerville crews in destroying two buildings at the northeast square, causing an estimated damage of over a half million dollars to the I.8 U. service building and Peatman Plumbing and Heating. Electric supplies and blueprints were lost. Moravia units joined Albia Unionville and Mystic, operating two hose lines for over six hours, praised for rapid, effective action.
