Eight members of the Mooresville High School class of 1908 met for a reunion at Bethany Work last Monday. Attendees included Horace Rusie with wife and son, Mrs Bertha Fate Robbins and daughter Grace Hadley, Mabel Warren, Mattie Warren Cook of Indianapolis, Larkin Hadley of Cleveland, Alpha Farmer couple, and Grace Bayliss. The gathering was described as a red letter day in their experiences.

Philip Johnson, 15 months, son of Mr and Mrs A V Johnson, placed third in the Better Babies contest for 12 to 24 month olds at the Indiana State Fair near Indianapolis. Under Dr Ada Sweitzer, Ralph Blackwell of Franklin won first with 9.4, Donald Klipeh of Hope took second with 99, Philip earned 98.9 for a $10 third prize.

County approves Morgan County tax levies for next year
The county council approved the Mor gan County levies for the coming year with no petitions. The ordinary levy remains 23 cents per hundred dollars, bridge levy 7 cents, gravel road repair fund 10 cents, totaling 40 cents per $100.

The Morgan County Farm Bureau announces a 1922 contest for girls aged 15 to 24 to win a trip to the State Fair Home Economics School next year. The top member by the March 1 deadline will receive the trip, with the winner chosen from Morgan County and the winner’s check for five dollars payable to Edda G. Crown. A parallel boys and girls pig prize is offered for the top five dollar membership in each township, with a pig awarded in March and eligibility for county club prizes. Housand Indicted in First Degree Murder Case
Morgan County Grand Jury returned an indictment against Carl Housand for first degree murder in the death of Simon Chandler of Plainfield. Housand had been jailed since August 29 after being charged with murder following a baseball game altercation at Mooresville on August 28. Chandler died from injuries reportedly caused by a baseball bat strike.
