Orrin R. Carlisle, 89, died suddenly Tuesday morning at his home from heart neuralgia. His funeral was held Thursday at 2 o clock with many friends in attendance.
James P. Goodrich, Republican candidate for governor, will speak to Mooresville citizens on Saturday morning. He will then travel to Waverly and Martinsville, delivering separate addresses at each location.
Lyon and Lyon showcased a large fall and winter hat display last Saturday attracting many ladies who admired the hats and placed numerous orders. A reminder was issued for children’s day at Lyon and Lyon on Saturday.
Next Sunday at 11 a.m. Edgar Hole, African missionary with Friends Industrial Mission, will share experiences from Africa. All youths invited to C E at 6 20 p.m. to hear "The Consecration of School Life" led by Miss Bel Barnett. Mrs. Watson will address at 7 p.m. on "What is Worth While."

The former Lyon and Lyon millinery room has been prepared for a new restaurant. On Saturdays K. C. Hadley hosts friends with ice cream and decorations as a preview. He plans to offer home cooking and ensure sanitary conditions for patrons.

Reports include illness recovery for Mrs. Charles Securneon, changes in school principal positions near New Goshen, a five foot shark catch near the old ock, trade offer for a modern Irvington home, and travels or visits of several locals such as Mrs. Wyol Von Cannon and Claude Dow. The high school vacancy from Prof. Bruckner’s resignation is filled by Miss Maude E. Bryen, praised by Indiana University for her scholarship and two years Latin and German teaching. Miss McCracken resigns for a Plymouth position with better pay and longer term. Miss Laura Hadley will teach fourth grade and Miss Jennie Ednore replaces McCracken.

Former pupils and teachers held a Saturday farewell for Prof Payne at Miss Helen Yorks home. An impromptu program sparked merriment as Glen Roberts presented a silver paper cutter with the high school pictured. An informal reception followed at the Aba church for the Paynes who depart for Noblesville Tuesday morning.
The Shaffer reunion drew relatives from distant towns to Yaurk Puoedes for its eleventh annual gathering. A thirty foot table displayed framed dishes. after dinner, a concert featured Gro Dale and Alart ineville with songs and a reader. Local attendees included Mr. and Mrs. RR OC George of Janataye- Bhi.
Loni Niwhiter offers last season prices at Wadi Wilson's hardware store. Geo Allison and family moved last Thursday to Rooves store location.
William Shaffer found a strange Englishman with a small valise near J. H. Mills farm east of town. Marshal Beeler traced him to Indianapolis after confusion over missing belongings. The man, named Hiouse, claimed yearlong exile in the U.S. with England ties, and was deemed mentally unbalanced before being freed in Meeresville.
Friends gathered at the M F E church parsonage on a Saturday evening to celebrate the twenty fifth wedding anniversary of Rev and Mrs J W J Collins. Mrs Mary Hadley played the piano part of the evening as visitors from out of town called including Mr and Mrs oc Denville and Mr and Mrs AL Wiley of Indianapolis. Also visiting were Mr and Mrs Warren Sage and their children from Rennessalaer and Mrs Matilda Farmer mother of Mrs Sage, who is sister to Mrs Henderson’s mother.
The 14th annual reunion will be in Martinsville Indiana on an upcoming Thursday. Rev Daniel F L Ryan Past Department Commander of the AR of Glenwood will deliver the address. A bean dinner, Camp Fire talks, moving pictures of the European War, band and orchestra music, and auto rides for visitors are planned.
George F. Allison sold his grocery store to D. P. Thornberry. The stock was invoiced Tuesday and Thornberry is now in charge. The new proprietor is well known and has many friends here. Allison plans to move to the country next spring to take up farming.
