Local column reports Mrs. B F Morgan ill. Several residents visit family and friends, including J W Hornaday of Indianapolis and W A Lyon in Michigan. Garden seeds and crop prospects noted along with sales items and a sheriff race discussion. A mixed list of farm activity, property for sale, and local travel fills the page.
The town board met May 21 in regular session with all members present. Minutes were approved and a petition signed by 225 citizens supported levying a special library tax. The ordinance was passed after a swift suspension of rules. W L Thompson and C L Halla were appointed to the Library Board. A cement walk along Indiana Street between Main and the first alley south was approved, to be funded by neighboring business owners and supervised by the Improvement Committee.
Memorial services for Moapa Tribe No. 327 and G A R decoration set for May 30 at 2 p.m. Members meet at lodge hall at 1 30 p.m. Memorial sermon to be preached by Rev. Amos Kile Clarke at the Christian church. Sunday service noted for May 26 with lodge meeting at 7 19 a m.
The Prohibition State Convention will meet at Tomlinson Hall in Indianapolis on Tuesday and Wednesday May 28 and 29. A platform will be adopted and a state ticket nominated with addresses by Charles Scanlon of Pittsburgh and Daniel A. Poling of Columbus. Prohibition candidate for governor, Taylor University male quartet Hillside Christian church choir and the Clarion Trio will provide special music. All temperance supporters are invited.
Dog owners who have not paid the dog tax to the Assessor will become delinquent after June 1 and are subject to penalties of the law. Otis Burk, Assessor.

Sug Haltom becomes general manager for W H Senderson as he pursues the Republican nomination for Morgan County representative. Doctress Mary Smith of New York visits sister Mrs A L Wheeler. Green Castle niece Miss Ire Trueblood and Clifton Wheeler family visit. Rent offered for three rooms above First National Bank. Multiple residents travel between Mt. Carmel Shelbyville Indianapolis Clinton Edinburg Scotland and Indianapolis for summer plans and family visits.
The Musikverein presents a two season trained junior chorus directed by Ferdinand Schaefer. Fifty young singers aged ten to fourteen, with a violinist, vocalist and pianist, will perform in a standalone concert in our town with tickets at P. Thompson's dry goods store.
The Indiana Sunday School Convention will be held in Richmond on June 26 27 and 28 marking the close of the forty eighth year of the State Association. An estimated fifteen hundred delegates will attend including pastors Sunday school superintendents teachers and other workers. A greenfinch tagged with Aberdeenshire University ring 7185 was captured in January 1911, released in March, and returned January 13, 1912. The bird hopped into the cage when presented and settled in, proving its identity by the leg ring.
