The American Legion urges all loyal Americans to wear a poppy on Memorial Day to honor heroes. The Mooresville Post has ordered a supply and poppies will be sold next week.
The graduating class of Mooresville High will hold a baccalaureate service at Community House on Sunday evening May 22 at Tau. The program includes Orchestra Cherus and Choir with "O Magnify the Led" and "Bless the Lord" and scriptures by Rev Hartsuck. Rev Carnes will give the invocation and sermon. Open to the public.
Walter Keller son of Mr and Mrs G A Keller married Edith Baker daughter of Mr and Mrs J O Baker of Martinsville. Rev H H Allen officiated at the M E church ceremony Saturday at 6. Reuben Aldrich and Miss Gladys Hedrick accompanied the couple from Martinsville. A reception at Cedarhurst followed by Mr and Mrs K F E Smith. The new couple will live with the groom's parents after a short wedding trip.
Memorial Day will be observed Sunday May 28 with Reverend Watson delivering the morning address at the Christian church and an evening talk at the Methodist church. The program outlines the next work to be announced.
The Rainers Supply Co. seeks to order twine for the year from RoW Gregory in the secretary’s office. The request notes standard supply needs and timing for annual materials.
Mooresville fans witnessed a lively baseball showdown as the home team defeated the Federal Athletic Club of Indianapolis 26 to 13. The win marked the fourth straightVictory and hints at possible state contention with next Sunday's game against the Motor Transports from Indianapolis.
School notes outline a weirner roast for sophomores at Blackrock last Friday and May Day events scheduled for May 1, with May Queen crowning and performances by various classes. Baccalaureate is set for Sunday evening May 22 at 7 30 in the Gymnasium, and Marys Millions will be performed May 25 with tickets via senior members.

Sunday School attendance last Sunday was 231. The Brotherhood class remains the top class. The Epworth League officers were installed last Sunday evening with Ditton Hayworth as President and a fivefold vice president slate. Services next Sunday: class meeting 8:45, Sunday School 9:30, morning worship 10:45 with a sermon by Rev C E Bacon, district superintendent. Quarterly Conference at 2 PM. evening service suspended due to the community baccalaureate.

Final reports approved for guardians of Franklin Hallam and others. Partitions and partitions related suits proceed with final reports examined. Various divorce and dissolution filings including Thiecke vs Galloway, Risinger vs Risinger, and Bray vs Rawnaley noted with dismissals and fee awards.
The Friends Church lists a Sunday School at 19:00 and worship at 11:00, a Thursday evening monthly business meeting at 7:30, and a Junior Endeavor Saturday at 2:30 led by Mrs H V Johnson. Baccalaurate service will dismiss evening service May 22. Rev Mary N Cox preached the Quarterly meeting sermon and spoke on the value of music in worship.
