Tickets for the Alumni supper and circus go on sale at Farmers State Bank Friday May 26 and Saturday May 27. Proceeds support alumni activities and event expenses.
P Bernstein acquired the Paragon Barrell Store this week. The general merchandise stock includes dry goods groceries shoes clothing and hardware across two large rooms. Bernstein appointed S Shuler as manager and the deal involved about 6000 dollars. Mrs Ora Jackson departed Tuesday for four weeks in Oberlin Colorado to visit her daughter a college junior.
Mooresville Candy Kitchen advertises chocolate and vanilla fudge at 12 1 2 cents per pound for weekend customers.
The Morgan County Sunday School Convention will be held May 27 in the Eminence Community Building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eminence residents will provide a noon dinner and all county Sunday schools are urged to attend. The public is invited to join for a welcoming program.

The Mooresville High School class of 1923 plans diplomas on May 26 with top grades led by Coral Welty and Florence Sturm. Open house May 23 will showcase art, manual training, domestic science and more. A baccalaureate service follows May 21 and commencement with Ralph Parlette May 26, plus a class play May 22 and a stock judging cup on display.
Advisory Board members gathered at a Martinsville sanitarium luncheon to discuss establishing a Salvation Army corps in the city. A committee was formed to study propositions and Noble Stanton was unanimously chosen chairman for the coming year.

The Annual School Enumeration for Morgan County shows a total of 5369 pupils aged 6 to 21 for 1923, with Martinsville City and Mooresville Town posting gains and Gregg township as the largest loser. The count covers 51 one room schools with 1187 pupils, 72 larger buildings housing 26 teachers and 5046 pupils, plus 2 colored children in Jefferson and Martinsville townships.
The Sunday School and Epworth League elected officers for the year and urge strong cooperation. Next Sunday services include Class at 8:45, Sunday School at 9:30, Worship at 10:45, with Rev. Co. E. Bacon preaching at the third quarterly meeting. A 7:30 Baccalaureate service honors the local graduating class. Public invited.
