Bernstein Buys Paragon Barrell Store in Early Week

P Bernstein acquired the Paragon Barrell Store this week. The general merchandise stock includes dry goods groceries shoes clothing and hardware across two large rooms. Bernstein appointed S Shuler as manager and the deal involved about 6000 dollars. Mrs Ora Jackson departed Tuesday for four weeks in Oberlin Colorado to visit her daughter a college junior.

Mooresville High School Prepares Senior Events and Awards

The Mooresville High School class of 1923 plans diplomas on May 26 with top grades led by Coral Welty and Florence Sturm. Open house May 23 will showcase art, manual training, domestic science and more. A baccalaureate service follows May 21 and commencement with Ralph Parlette May 26, plus a class play May 22 and a stock judging cup on display.

Morgan County School Enumeration Finishes With 1923 Count

The Annual School Enumeration for Morgan County shows a total of 5369 pupils aged 6 to 21 for 1923, with Martinsville City and Mooresville Town posting gains and Gregg township as the largest loser. The count covers 51 one room schools with 1187 pupils, 72 larger buildings housing 26 teachers and 5046 pupils, plus 2 colored children in Jefferson and Martinsville townships.
