Woman's Club Comedy Thrives at Library Hall

Last Friday the two act play produced by the Woman's Club at the library assembly hall drew full attendance. Mrs. Harry Williams led as Mrs. Bings while Aunt Belinda Lucy Jessie and Goldah provided lively plots. Cupid and a policeman added to the scene as John Morrison helped resolve a conflict. Thompson orchestra andDorval Jackson and Katharine Friesner supplied music. Proceeds totaled about thirty dollars.

Town Board Orders High Street Survey for Paving

The town board met Tuesday evening and ordered a survey of High street for paving. C. H. Goss of Martinsville was hired to conduct the survey. A remonstrance against the improvement was presented, signed by numerous East High street property owners.

A host of about forty friends and neighbors surprised Mrs. C. W. Weidner on her birthday Saturday night May 13 1916. A cake adorned with lighted candles was cut and refreshments were served as the enjoyable evening proceeded.
