Soldier Boys Return from Overseas Hometown Welcomes Units
The Interurban station overflowed Saturday with parents and friends greeting the Metcal Detachment of the 155th FL. A. 42nd Rainbow Division returning from eighteen months overseas. Soldiers arrived by an Oelock car amid cheers, handshakes, and warm welcomes from local families including Noble D. Stanton Donald Kenworthy Bonnie McCracken and Howard McCracken plus about twenty others from Martinsville and Iren Monrovia. The unit had been part of the Army of Occupation in Germany since the armistice.

Pythian Sisters Convention Draws 200 Delegates
The Pythian Sisters Sth district held its convention on Tuesday with over two hundred delegates and visitors. Delegates and grand officers delivered talks on order principles, led by Grand Chief Iva Leverton of Huntington and Grand Manager Mrs Hattie Brown of Dana. The Dorcas Society served meals in the church basement.

Mrs Caroline Harrah died at her daughter’s home near Landersdale after years of invalidism. Funeral services were held at Mt. Olive. Attendees included Mrs William Moore Miss Ida Fogleman and Mrs Etta Wilson. Joe Harper of Tawabatts Iowa visited his brother Sam Harper and wife for the first time in years. his birthday fell on the 10th. Mrs Pearl Bibiger in Chicago suffers stomach and neuritis after a recent operation and is in hospital. Mrs William Sumner learned of her brother Robert Forrest’s wife dying in West Indianapolis. funeral at Crown Hill. Mr and Mrs John Smith with Misses Fannie and Mary Sumner attended. Forrest family formerly lived in Moores Ville then Indianapolis. Wash Alfred suffered a paralytic stroke on the Indianapolis road and died the same evening at his home. He was about 50 years old. his son Frank was hospitalized in Indianapolis for an operation that was postponed until after the funeral. The son will return for the funeral.
