Townsend Child Receives Eye Ulcer Surgery in Indianapolis

Mr Horace Townsend and his wife took their son Howard to an eye specialist in Indianapolis on Monday for a small ulcer in one eye. The specialist removed the ulcer and the boy is resting easily now.

Noted Mooresville Pioneer J S Bolton Remembers Town

K E Smitherman shows a letter from J S Bolton who lived here twenty years ago. Bolton came from Alpha Illinois and helped build the Bolton addition near the sorghum factory. He later owned the electric light plant, sold it to the Public Service Co, then returned to Alpha. He now resides with his daughter in San Diego.

Moon Lots Sold by Walter Thompson on East High Street

Walter Thompson bought the Moon lots on East High Street in Indianapolis from Mrs. Bertha Sawyers. The plot measures 200 feet frontage by 400 feet deep and will be divided into three blocks of 66 2 3 by 200 feet on High Street and three blocks of 66 2 3 by 200 feet on Indiana Street. The lots are described as very desirable and likely to sell quickly. Thompson plans to build a home on the lot next to Frank Carlisle this summer or fall.

Poles and Trees Sparks Community Dispute on High Street

Interstate Power Company offered to retrim shade trees on High street after earlier trimming without owners consent. Residents largely refused the service and demanded removal of poles to an alley instead. They blame the town board for granting permission without proper inquiry.

Death of W S Haltom At Daughter's Home

W S Haltom died Thursday evening at his daughter Mrs Walter Edwards home on West High Street after a two week illness. Funeral services will be held at Mrs Edwards home Monday afternoon at 1 46 o clock with burial at Martinsville. His son Arthur is expected to arrive from Arizona Sunday.
