Mr and Mrs H M Dixon entertained the senior class at their West High Street home Saturday from 8 to 11. The evening featured a contest then charades, a ghost story by Mr Dixon, and a prize box of candy awarded to Cynthia Osborn for selling the most Annuals. Brick cream and cakes were served.

Free Mail Delivery Starts May 1 in Mooresville

Mooresville will begin free mail delivery May 1 with two carriers serving all residences and businesses within town limits. Four deliveries daily in the business section along Main Street and Indiana streets, two deliveries daily in the remainder. Carriers are Chas H. Wilson and Forest Bush. Salary set at $50 a month. Mail boxes will be placed at convenient locations across town.

Oiling the Street Petition Spurs Board Action

A guidance note explains oiling streets for best results. If a majority of residents on a street petition the town board, the board orders oiling and the cost is assessed per foot against all benefited properties.

Dorcas Society Entertains Sunday School Class

The Dorcas society hosted J. P. Calvert's Sunday school class at the Harvey home north of town. About thirty attended though the class has forty five members. A fine dinner was served and the event was enjoyed and memorable. Mrs. Lucille Tutt and daughter Margaret of Indianapolis attended.

Lenten Offering Noted by Local Methodist Society

For the first time the W. H. M. S. of the Methodist church observed Lenten offering. The meeting took place at Mrs William Moore's home on Wednesday afternoon. A very interesting program was presented and an offering exceeding five dollars was collected. Light refreshments followed the social hour.

Parents and Teachers Meeting at High School

A Parent-Teachers meeting is planned for next Tuesday evening in the high school assembly hall. Prof. Horace Ellis and Supervisor Z M Smith will speak and lead a program with songs by the high school chorus and an invocation by Rev C O Watson.

School Board Luncheon Hosts News of Engagement

School board members and their wives attended a six o'clock luncheon at the school house on Tuesday evening. Guests wore aprons and enjoyed spring flower place cards. Mr Dixon read a telegram announcing the engagement of Bernice Bodenhofer to Elvin Wheeler. The wedding is planned for spring. Miss Bodenhofer, a music and drawing teacher, will leave the schools. A taffy pull followed.

Berean Bible Class Organized at Utterbach Home

The Berean Bible class with Mr. D. B. Johnson as teacher met at Mr. and Mrs. Frobel Utterbachs last Thursday evening. Forty three members attended as the organization completed a fall begun effort delayed by the union revival.

Special service at Friends church with Rev Kilburn

Rev Kilburn of Indianapolis superintendent of the Faith Home will speak on the home’s work next Sunday evening at 7 30 pm. He will be joined by three young women who will sing. Palm Sunday will be observed with a 10 am Sunday School and a morning sermon titled The Triumphant Entry.
