Local notes report illnesses its residents deaths and family visits in Mooresville Indiana. Mary Duckworth dies at home near Waverly aged 57. Hadleys and Williams families mentioned with hospital stays and recoveries. Elections, moving, repairs, sales, and social visits populate the week with multiple households listed.
At a Literary department meeting Mrs. W. H. Williams sketched the life of George Eliott and previewed new books. Mrs. O. P. Macy reviewed Adam Bede set after Wesley’s death. Miss Katharine Ballard was reappointed magazine agent. Mothers Department plans a meeting next Monday.
The ongoing contest in the M. E. Sunday school concluded last Sunday and Tuesday evening with a welcoming chicken supper in the basement for new members. Rev. Coryn served as toastmaster. A fine supper and entertaining toast responses followed. Music was provided by the Sunday school orchestra and Mr. Lehner.
A. L. Wheeler reports from Rotterdam that the Belgian relief flour cargo arrived at midnight on Saturday February 27. The shipment left Philadelphia February 11 aboard the South Point. U S and Canadian millers donated 70 780 barrels, with Indiana third in barrels contributed behind Minnesota and Ohio.
The W C T U announces an illustrated lecture by Dr J N Hurty on temperance physiology at the school building Tuesday evening April 6 at 7 50. Admission is free but tickets are required due to high demand. tickets available from high school and grade teachers.
The Mooresville town board met in special session and admitted new additions Reagan on the northeast about 4 lots Worth on the northwest about 35 lots Former on the east about 15 lots and Bolton with 5 lots. The board issued notices for annexation of land west of town by the traction power house and adjacent property, plus the north Indiana street residence section joining the current corporation line. Attorney CG McNutt of Martinsville advised the board.
Mrs Ed Miller received a birthday surprise when seventy seven friends gathered at her home after an auto ride. Out of town guests included Mr and Mrs J W Dillinger and Mr and Mrs Er R Hancock and families from Indianapolis for a bounteous dinner.
Charles Lyon, seven, son of Mr and Mrs W A Lyon, invested his saved earnings in Flatrock Hosiery becoming Mooresville’s youngest businessman. His bank savings earned 3 percent interest before he bought stock for Lyon's millinery display.
Two millinery openings last weekend drew many visitors and were successful. Sumner Sisters held events Friday and Saturday with a lucky hat giveaway to Mrs. Jacob Heine on Saturday evening. Music by Columbia Grafonda complemented the showing. Lyon & Lyon featured azither music by Thomas Lehner on Saturday. About 156 people registered in under two hours Saturday afternoon. Both stores showcased numerous new hats.
The Easter market hosted by the W. C. T. U. will take place at Keller's Hardware Store on Saturday April 3. Donations must be at the store by 9 00 AM with prior notice to a solicitor if delivering later. Cakes and chickens are promised and more are expected for Easter dinner. Laura V. Payne president.
The Likely club met with Mrs. C C Carlisle last Thursday afternoon. Grace Haley read a paper on China home life and characteristics. Guests from Indianapolis included Mrs Daisy Barrett Mrs Allen and Miss Davidson. Davidson presided at the piano and accompanied Barrett and Allen in Chinese solos. A Chinese playlet delighted members. Tea custard and cakes were served.
A grand basketball season ends with a banquet by Dr. W L Thompson honoring Mooresville’s team. Coach Schopmeyer praised for guidance. The squad, led by Carlisle and Stokesberry, posted 421 wins to 237 losses across a total season with key games against West Newton Plainfield Mondovia Greenwood Martinsville Oaklandon Clayton Paoli and others.
All structures on the two story brick dwelling, frame addition connecting dwelling, wood house and barn on the library lot are offered for sale as they stand. They may be sold altogether or separately. For information inquire at the Mooresville public library after noon or evening.

Notice to stockholders. The Mooresville Telephone Co will hold a meeting on Monday April 5 1915 at 1 30 PM at the exchange office to elect seven directors for the ensuing year. R D Sellers.

The Public Library Commission of Indiana offers free lent outlines and photo collections to clubs or groups of five or more in areas without a public library. In cooperation with Indiana and Purdue Universities, The Mothers' Congress, Parent Teacher Association, and Herron Art Institute, mounted photographs and lantern slides supplement the outlines.
