The Times outlines Mooresville Bargain Saturdays on March 23 and March 30 with wide store participation, emphasis on practical everyday goods, limited quantities, and rules against telephone orders. Merchants expect large crowds, neighborly reunions, and a sustained spring buying surge in the ten mile trading area.
Sumner sisters Viola Hinson Brown Lyon and Lyon. The Farmers Bank and First National Bank name buyers of milk. Dry goods harness breads cakes lunch millinery women and children's apparel dresses shops list features special offers from multiple business concerns with emphasis on bargains and goods.
Neighbors gathered at a farm home southwest of town to surprise Mr. and Mrs. William A. York with birthday baskets. Mrs York celebrates today while Mr York turns 75 four days later on Tyuesday. The couple are in good health and continue farm duties as their son Jasper York and his family from town joined in the celebration.
The electric line station waiting room stays open for night car arrivals until 10 30. No tickets are sold. Marshal Beeler oversees the area after 6 pm. Mrs. Fred Monical of Beacon Michigan visited Brookyn relatives after calling on local families and is identified with former schoolteacher Alice Record. Prof. Fred Monical has long led Beacon schools.
Mooresville drew shoppers from Morgan, Hendricks and Marion counties for the first big bargain day. Merchants reported strong crowds, exhausted stock, and renewed trade as locals joined country visitors to buy clothes, can goods, utensils, seed, and more amid special Saturday sales.
