Williams Man Crushed by Family Horse in Barn Mishap

Saturday evening Harry Williams was crushed by a horse in the Spornberg barn, breaking ribs and a kidney. He received care at home, then was moved to a hospital in Indianapolis after consultations with Dr. Noble and his physician. Family members Mary and Ralph Williams visited during the following days.

Chicago Concert Company to Perform at Friends Church March 26

A lecture concert by the Chicago Concert Company will be held at the Friends church on Friday evening March 26. Mary Lutz leads the company as a renowned lyceum soloist with cities including San Francisco Atlanta New York Philadelphia and Chicago cited for months. Harry Highee Brooks tours as a soloist with major bands Liberati Kryl and the Kitties. Other featured musicians include Miss Lybarger string bass Miss Guthrie trombone and Miss Gernand accompanist with Miss Mitchell as flutist in the Chicago Musical Club program.

Mrs Matthews Sprains Ankle After School Event Incident

While leaving the school house Monday evening after the entertainment Mrs Matthews was knocked down by boys pushing behind her. She sprained her ankle and was brought home by buggy for rest. Mr Reeves hosted a friend gathering for Mr and Mrs Ralph Tresslar Friday night with Japanese lanterns and a two course lunch.

Ladies Aid Social at Friends Church

The Ladies Aid of the Friends church hosted a social Tuesday afternoon with each attendee inviting a guest. The program featured music recitals and readings including Helena Henderson piano pieces Katherine Furgeson solo Maxine Mills reading Finding a Home for Two Kittens Bertha Adams reading and Clifton Furnas recital Delicious cake and coffee were served during the social hour.

Woman's Club elects officers at annual civic meeting

The Woman's club held its annual officers election with Mrs. E. H. Anderson as president and Mrs. Frank Sheets as vice president. Other officers include Mrs. C. R. Wilson secretary Miss Fannie Sumner treasurer and Mrs. Otis Burk director. Large attendance and upcoming dues indicate growing interest. literary department to meet next Monday.

Mrs Greeson and daughter to return home in late March

Mrs Amanda Greeson and daughter Norris, who spent winter in Wichita and in parts of California, expect to return home about March 25. Doctors Brackney and Ross operated Saturday night on Jesse Lambert for a hernia. The operation was very successful and Lambert is improving.

Secretary John W. Cravens confronted a tramp who claimed Mooresville roots and a lumber yard. Cravens, born near Mooresville, pressed questions and exposed the ruse by noting the town’s lumber yard belongs to his old classmate Harry Scearce, revealing the tramp’s story as false.

Art Exhibit at Schoolhouse Draws Wide Visitors

The schoolhouse art exhibit fills the library with visitors. Mrs Calvin Roberts has prize winning pictures from the World's Fair on display. Pupils from all grades perform each evening with choruses and a moving picture show. The Thursday night oratorical contest crowned Clifton Furnas first and Pauline Hutton second among Ira Talley and Mary Reynolds.

Route To Be Discontinued In Local Post Office

The post office department notifies the post master that rural route No 4 carried by Horace Hadley will be discontinued after April 1. Routes of James Lat ta and Ed Lindley will be rearranged to take a part of the discontinued route. Subscriptions paid.
