Mooresville plans two big bargain Saturdays with more than twenty business houses in all lines joining a price cutting campaign. Special merchandise features will be offered day and evening on each Saturday to deliver real money saving to the public.
Mooresville gears up for Big Saturday on March 23 with extensive sales across shops. L A Shanafelt Harness offers hand made gear and rings to farmers. Fred Cooper Jeweler sells silver spoons. E W Day grocer cuts Lighthouse Cleaner to 3 cents and pest cards to 2 for a cent.
West Newton defeated Mooresville High School in a debate on the Protective Tariff abolition. Judges were Himelick Buck and Comb. Mooresville speakers failed to prepare, with one student delaying until the prior Wednesday. Net receipts from the event totaled 35.75 dollars, split between library funds of Mooresville and West Newton.
Professor W F Stewart of San Antonio, County Superintendent of Baker County, spent a day in Indianapolis visiting the Manual Training high school and Mooresville. He came from the St Louis convention to study industrial education in city and smaller schools. He approved the manuals and domestic art courses and arranged to prepare a full outline of curricula costs and equipment.

Griffith has been sick with tonsillitis for the past week. Mrs J A Shufflebarger returned Tuesday from a visit with relatives at Elnora. Mrs Almira Hadley sprained her back Monday after a fall. The Likely club met with Mrs Lillian Branch last week and with Mrs H V Johnson this week. A daughter, Mary Louise, was born to Mr and Mrs Thos Brown on East High Street last Friday. Mrs Porter of Wabash visited her daughter Mrs Thos Brown indefinitely.

Mooresville merchants anticipate crowds for the first of six Saturday bargain days beginning March 16. Twenty two business houses prepared to offer serial features and price cuts on a wide range of items from clocks and furniture to candy and shoes. David W. Joyner will conduct a public sale at his barn half a mile from town on the Plainfield road Tuesday March 19. The sale includes horses mules cows hogs vehicles implements corn and other farm items. Joyner retires from farming for the present but will continue residing on the farm.
