Winners in Keen Kutter puzzle contest at Keller store

The Keen Kutter puzzle contest at G A Keller's store ended last Saturday with four winners. W A Lyon finished first in 53 minutes winning five pairs of scissors, Erwin Milhon second in 57 minutes receiving a tool box and tools, Erwin Latta third in 58 minutes receiving a gold plated safety razor, and Walter Keller fourth in 58 minutes taking a set of silver knives and forks. All prizes were Keen Kutter butter goods. Forty three contestants attempted the puzzle before time ran out.

Ferguson-Davis Couple Wed at Bride’s Home

Basil Lee Ferguson and Mary Lee Davis were married February 23 at the bride’s parents’ home east of Mooresville. Rev. G E Garrison performed the ceremony in front of relatives and friends with brick ice cream and cake served as refreshments.

Major Hendershot and son to perform camp fire at opera house

On Saturday evening April 9 Major R H Hendershot and his son from Chicago will present a camp fire entertainment at the opera house with drums and fifes. Admission is free for veterans with early ticket requests. tickets go on sale April 2 at Lyons' Bargain Store. Proceeds go to the library fund and a Lincoln bust dedication will occur during Commencement week at the opera house.

Lincoln bust for high school library honors local donors

Citizens funded a Lincoln bust to match the Washington bust in the High School library. The 6 ft 3 in sculpture by Rafaello Geroni honors the nation’s savior, with a pedestal and crafted from the death mask study. The February 11 contest featured Franklin Plainfield Greenwood Clayton and Mooresville participants.
