Theodore Romine plans spring sale of fifteen building lots on the east side of the park fronting the Monrovia pike south to South street. Twelve lots face a new street opened in front, three face South street near Ernest Harvey’s residence. A private sewer will be installed at buyer expense. the Romine barn sits on the ground. Mrs. W. H. Newman of Lincoln Neb purchased the corner lot with 100 foot frontage on the pike.
Elihu Morgan aged 72 was guest of honor at a birthday dinner hosted by his youngest daughter Mrs Mark Adams on Sunday. His February birthday was celebrated with three children and many relatives including Sophrine Weessner 88, first school teacher, and a wide circle of Clayton Ben Davis Camby and local residents.
Brown township Republicans gathered Tuesday evening in the office of W. O H. Henderson with W. C. Woods presiding. Attendees included Jos W Williams county chairman A M Baha EL PF Branch Don McKahan O R Smith Roy Tilford H J Martin Martinsville and David Scott from the state central committee. Roscoe Farmer Brown township Republican sheriff candidate attended.
Republican voters are asked to nominate R D Sellars in the third district for commissioner. Born and raised locally he is described as a good clean capable citizen always seeking the community's best interests. The ad calls Republicans to strengthen the ticket by voting for him.
The Friends Church invites members to Sunday worship with two talks scheduled at 11 a.m. by C. O. Watson on Loyalty to Principle and by Lenna Watson on The Race of Life. March readers include Leonard Hadley Ira York Im ina Henderson with the Missionary Committee. GC meets every Sunday evening at 6.
Donald B. Snyder a freshman at Earlham College captured first place in the state intercollegiate oratorical contest held in Indianapolis on Friday evening. This marks the fourth Earlham win since 1905 with Notre Dame second and DePauw third. Franklin, Wabash, Butler, and Franklin also placed in the top seven as the speaker urged against mandatory military training in public schools.
Fashioned Spelling School hosts a spelling contest at the school house Friday night next week open to all except high school students. Admission five cents per person or twenty-five cents per family with prizes awarded.
Miss Climer conducts a Saturday afternoon program at the library with seven children who display perfect poise on stage. Mrs. Carlisle and her sisters join for dinner as a plan forms to start a class for boys and girls, drawing enthusiastic local support.

About forty volumes from the late Mrs J T Park were donated to the library. The list includes Plato and the teacher and selections from Plato with introductions and notes, biographies of Franklin Irving Bryant Webster Emerson Thoreau and others, and histories of civilization in Europe. Additional gifts come from Albert Macy and Mr Mrs Jim Manker with works on McKinley King of Capitol and Knights of Labor and Don Quixote. An exhibit of Indiana history plans to be displayed from the Public Library Commission of Indianapolis.
The notice records paid subscriptions by individuals including John McCool Dana Frerett Allen Mahlon Deweese and others. It lists residents such as H. C. Hadley Chas. Wilson Gee W. Basa Naomi Huffman and Cornishville associated in the payment note.

The Rev. Dr. B L Dailey, longtime pastor of Greenfield Christian church, sold his country home and moved to Irvington. He led the church for thirteen years, helped build the current edifice, and oversaw growth from under 100 to about 200 members. He married many locals and logged 174 cemetery visits. Mr and Mrs F J Bosler bought the Dailey home and will move in next week.
Cyrus Rariden died at his home south of town after five weeks of grip and kidney trouble. He leaves a wife and three sons, four brothers, two sisters, and was a longtime stone mason now farming. Funeral at Friends church Wednesday at 11 conducted by Rev Clyde O Watson with I C C F lodge at the grave.
