Masonic Exercises Honor Service Members at Park Dedication
Large crowd gathered at the Town park last Sunday afternoon as the Masonic lodge dedicated a service flag for members who have entered the service. A musical program featured Miss Verne Weidner, Miss Alice Ballard, Miss Margaret Thornberry, and Miss Miriam Park followed by an address from ex-attorney general Charles W. Miller. The flag bore twenty five stars with thirteen for commissioned officers. Rev Thorna of Martinsville spoke on War Thrift Stamps, H M Dixon resigned as Thrift Stamp chairman due to school, Dr C Cone was appointed to replace him.
