Fruit Crop conditions indicate light overall yield
The May 25 assessment shows a very light crop for most fruits. Peaches reach about 80 percent and small fruits 93 percent. strawberries may yield large, high quality berries. Apples, pears, plums and cherries look light. Ben Davis failures appear locally while Grimes and Rome Beauty vary. Leaf curl on peaches is widespread and spraying now cannot reverse scab, but may curb late worm brood. W. B. Flick, Secretary Horticultural Society.
