Brown township trustees refuse to turn over property tax funds earmarked for the public library. The advisory board contends the levy was not legally made, leaving the library financially strapped. The library board has hired counsel and will sue in county court to compel payment, with both sides to bear legal costs.
A sacred concert of musical merit was given at the Friends church on last Sunday evening by the Quaker Quartette of Indianapolis. The quartet includes Miss Jeanette Edwards Miss Leona Wright Mrs White and Mrs Edward Selvage. The church was well filled and all praised the evening's entertainment.

Mor gan Cox of Morgan county Indiana died June 26 in Wichita Kansas after six days of acute indigestion. A native of Indiana he moved to Kansas in 1870 and worked in hotels before becoming custodian of the Masonic temple. He married Mattie Dunning in 1872 and leaves a sister and several half siblings along with many relatives in Wichita and Indiana. He was born November 28 1839 and was a longtime Christian church member.
Gail Mills has typhoid fever while Serena Mills returns from Terre Haute to aid in care. Mr and Mrs Shufflebarger traveled to Johnson County to inspect their Dunn farm barn after a lightning strike damaged the framework and timber, but caused no fire.
Geo D Leitzman and Nona W Dawson listed as a marrying couple with Leitzman a Hendricks Co farmer residing Hazelwood. Tara Bell Edith Kirk is daughter of Nath a F Kirk Morgan County residents. Crone and Kirk pairings show Morgan County ties and parental lines.
Mrs Lafe Shepherd and son visited Mrs John Kiser at Bethel Tuesday and found her improving. Mr and Mrs James Jordan of Indianapolis visited his father John Jordan and family from Friday to Sunday. Mrs E W Stanley of Plainfield visited her mother Mrs Christine Keller and daughter Mrs Late Shepherd last Friday. Charles Rariden of Terre Haute and Herschel McGee of Indianapolis visited their uncle Anson Rariden and family Wednesday. Mrs R M Dewees of Indianapolis, Mrs H H Wilson of Muncie, and Mrs J C Dewees and daughter Dorothy of Kokomo spent Thursday with Mr and Mrs Albert Dewees. Miss Helen Scearce entertained visitors including Mr and Mrs Beckett of Indianapolis and others at a six o clock dinner Monday honoring Homer Branch of Hammond. Mrs Albert Harvey hosted Misses Anna and Mary Record Mildred and Lenore Brackney Helen York Edna and Marguerite Sage and Helen Baldock in a surprise visit to Margaret Tutt of Pittsburg Penn Thursday evening. Mr Harvey took the crowd to the town park and they rode the merry go round. Cream and angel food cake were served. Miss Helen Baldock of Plainfield was guest of honor.
Town board in regular session on July 1 approves resolution committing to maintain a free public library funded by an annual levy of 115 dollars for 600 dollars a year minimum, after Carnegie Corporation of New York offers a 10 000 donation for a new building and site provision. Health officer to inspect cistern. utilities to discuss improved electric service. bills approved including cemetery work and hydrant rental.
