A flurry of social and business items mixes births and visits with sales and civic updates. Residents include Payne family newborn daughter, W. H. Henderson recovering health, and Ralph Tressiar buying Geo E. Allison grocery.
The notice invites the public to revival services at Bare on Sunday February 4 and to a Republican town council meeting Friday February 6 at 2 o'clock pm to select three committee members and one convention representative in Linton on February 10.
The Rev D W Tease officiated as Mr and Mrs Jerry Thackeray and two guests attended the ceremony. Afterward the couple will reside in Mr Ozment's home east of the railroad, with Day and Mrs Ozment to live there.
The Literary ailment of the Woman's Club was presided by Mrs 2H Rooker with sketches and readings from authors that proved interesting. Next Monday Mrs Romine will discuss Food Combinations and Go Tray as her subject.
On Tuesday February, in the home of Mrs Kee, a gathering featured a recitation by Miss Kathe, solo by Mrs Eirza Harvey, and a special collection for the Crusade Glory. Marriages listed include Harry Williams to someone, and William T Brewster to Rebecca Benson, with other nuptials for Charles M Ozment and Wigabeth Johnson.
Mrs. Guy Woods visited John Woods and family in Clayton. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Miller hosted Rev. and Mrs. E A Hartsaw with Miss Ethel and Master John plus Mrs. Rachel Clark. Mrs. Scotton returned from Rising Sun after a month with Rev. and Mrs. W F F Smith. Byron Hadley of Chicago checked on farm interests. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ryan hosted Rev. Daisy of Greenfield and Mrs. Humphreys for Sunday dinner. Mrs. Arthur Lindley of Martinsville tends her mother, Mrs. Katherine Ballard, ill with lumbago. C A Dailey’s birthday drew relatives from near Mooresville to help celebrate. C W Clark moved from Rachel Clark’s cottage to the country. cottage to be rented. Miss Bessie Wilson of Martinsville joined Miss Mary Osborn visiting Wilbur schools. Mrs. J A Wilson is partly able to be up though not walking yet. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bray shopped in Martinsville. Miss Mary Rushton ill with pneumonia with nurse in attendance. M E church remodel plan avoids debt. Aid Society supports the nondebt policy. Furnishings and pulpit outfit prepare for completion. furnace installation soon. Citizens urged to lead better lives as improvements proceed.
The State Board of Forestry invites essays on Forest Influences from high school and grade school pupils. Prizes total $40 with $12.50 top and $7.50 second for each group. Essays must be inked, under 2000 words, mailed to Elijah A. Gladden in Indianapolis by May 1, 1914.
Minorly used Wilcox and White organ offered by Mrs. May Dougherty of South Street near Indiana Street. The instrument, in a solid walnut case, is described as in good condition and priced very cheaply.
Charles Lowder died at age ninety at the home of his son Dr. Wm Lowder in Maquoketa Iowa. He lived near Plainfield and engaged in business in north Morgan County. A longtime member of White Lick Quarterly Meeting he helped sustain Plainfield quarterly and aided in preserving the Yearly Meeting church walls after a fire. He befriended judges and farmers and supported the County Fair at Centerton. His wife Mrs Lowder died after their golden anniversary.

Telephone E. W. Day, No. 118, offers prompt delivery of tax choice groceries, a local service highlighted in the notice.
Regular services listed for Methodist Episcopal Protestant Christian Friends and Christian Science churches. Timings include Sunday worship at 9:30 to 11:00 am and 6:15 to 7:00 pm, with class meetings, Sunday Schools, prayer meetings, and organists noted. Rev Mary Ayers and pastors lead, with invitations to all.
