Oriental Tea Attracts 50 Ladies To W F M Society Event
More than fifty ladies attended a rental tea at Mrs. C. Carfe home hosted by the W F M Society. The event showcased Japanese parasols lanterns dragons and cherry blossoms with performances by Alice Ballard Margaret Ornberry and Mrs. Po Jones. A display featured ancestral tablets and Chinese worship objects while Mrs Newan shared missionary travel artifacts. Tea and cakes were served and proceeds aided missionary work.

An interurban car struck an automobile truck at Maywood crossing, killing three men from West Newton and one driver from Camby. Witness Peter Stapp described blowing the whistle and attempting to brake and reverse to avoid impact. Undertakers from this place assisted with the bodies for burial.
