Leased the Clark House and purchased Latta Livery to run a first class hotel for transient and regular boarders and provide a high quality livery service. Invites patrons to visit and support the enterprise.
Mooresville and surrounding areas report visits and travel notes, business updates, and community events. Residents include Mr. and Mrs. Ward of Vincennes visiting family, Mrs. Templeton in Indianapolis, and Everett Thompson returning from Jennings Louisiana. Local commerce features Day’s grocery ads, hay for sale, and barber shop changes. Community notices cover church meetings, revivals, births, deaths, and school activities at Mooresville High School with athletic events and plans for a homecoming gathering.
Monrovia events include a Ladies' Aid Society social raising funds for new seats, Club efforts for a town hall, and brick work for a new business block. Church services, Sabbath school changes, and visits by residents are recorded, along with a revival at the Friends church led by Rev. Pennington and Rev. Bertram.
The 1908 annual statement for the Farmers Bank at Mooresville Indiana lists assets including loans and discounts 160188.99 plus overdrafts 19623 and other items such as banking house 4500 and cash on hand 718.62 totaling liabilities and capital stock 215718.62. J L Matthews president and W F Hadley cashier sworn to by notary public Co Schurmann on January 24 1909.
