Corn for sale from W F Hadley and Huminy feed from Comer and Scearce Co appear alongside visits by Dr B H Perce of Anderson and various locals. A rear end collision on the Martinsville division of the Terre Haute traction injured W H Henderson seriously and left over twenty passengers bruised. The second section failed to stop behind the first, striking as passengers say Borchers of Mooresville rode too close. Henderson was thrown from the rear platform and rushed to his Mooresville home. Ed Henderson and others were treated and continued their journey after dressings.
Family descendants of the late George Farmer gathered at the Farm ers home for a Sunday reunion with baskets and conversation. Prof R B Henley and Prof Edmund Albertson spoke in the afternoon. Forty five attendees included relatives from Danville Alvoo Indianapolis Plainfield and Kansas City.

The Missionary Society of the M E church will hold a market on August 7 at Carlisle's furniture store. Members should donate bread pies cake chicken salad or vegetables. Market opens to the public at 9 20 a m to fund a home in Indianapolis for six missionary deaconess students.
Private notice offers a nearly new Columbus rubber tired buggy in excellent condition for sale. Dr. E. K. Pfaff advertises the item as worth the money.
All owners or tenants of real estate in Mooresville are notified to cut weeds on their property and on streets and alleys adjacent. If not cut, the town will cut them and charge the cost against the property by order of the Town Board.
The notice cites licenses issued to Frank Edwards and Mary Ellen Winegler, Williams E Reeves with Lola Smith, and Alva B Hubble with Rose Hi Min nick, following a local licensing decision.
At a trustees meeting Rev. Thomas C. Brown announced his resignation as pastor effective at year end. He plans to move near his Plainfield farm with his daughter and wife who will accompany him for health and winter travel.
The Morgan county Republican convention at Martinsville nominated a full ticket by acclamation. Judge Joseph W Williams was re nominated for judge, D B Johnson of Mooresville for representative, Don McKahan of Martinsville for prosecutor, W S Ifahom of Mooresville for treasurer, Frank Looten of Martinsville for sheriff, Walter Butler of Martinsville for recorder, DD Maurice Murphy of Morgan town for coroner, and Ralph Bray of Monroe township for surveyor.
Prohibitionists of Morgan County will hold a convention and all day rally at Martinsville on Friday August 16. A full county ticket will be nominated. W. F. Stoddard, Prohibition candidate for joint senator from Marion, Morgan and Putnam counties, and either Mrs Stanley or Mrs Wayhinger of the state W C T U, plus other noted speakers, will attend.
A siting hen owned by Mrs. William Swope hatched a Plymouth rock chick with four developed legs. The chick walks on two legs. the extra pair may be used in emergencies if it grows to full size. Neighbors eye the curiosity, some already promised a fried chicken dinner.
The remodeling sale at Geos RQ continues after ten days with many low price bargains still available. A large amount of goods has been disposed of but many desirable articles remain to be closed out at attractive prices inviting all to shop.
A boy who escaped from the boys' school at Plainfield was seen Tuesday near the electric mile of Way by Bowman's stop. Marshal Beeler reported and the boy was taken to Bowman and returned to Plainfield school authorities.
The hardware firm Lindley & Weidner dissolved its partnership. H W Lindley bought the half interest of Weidner and becomes sole proprietor. Weidner will remain with Lindley for the present and any future business ventures.
The regular old settlers gathering will occur the second Tuesday in August on the 13th at Alenden hall's grove east of town, same as last year.

An old recipe explains preparing a cod based salt fish dinner. Soak cod overnight, slow cook in a fish kettle, then serve on a hot platter with fried pork scraps and boiled beef slices garnish. Egg sauce made from butter flour milk and chopped egg completes the dish.
Soak ham overnight in cold water then boil eighteen minutes per pound with ample water. Cool in the same liquid, skin removed and reserved. Skim fat and use the skin to make dripping. Brush with beaten egg, prepare a cracker paste with milk butter pepper salt and egg, coat ham and brown in moderate oven. Garnish knuckle with frilled paper and cress.
A historic recipe to make Apple Puff in custard cups. Mix 114 cups flour with baking powder and salt. Cut in butter, add milk to form stiff batter, fill cups with batter and grated apple alternating layers. Steam three quarters of an hour, serve hot with creamy sauce. Any fruit may substitute for apple.
