Accounting board to rule on sheriff and clerk fees
Indiana Governor Marshall will have the new public accounting board meet in Indianapolis next Monday. The board will review acts passed over Governor Hanley’s veto granting county clerks cript fees and sheriffs in and out fees, which the governor says are invalid. He plans to test the law and notify clerks and sheriffs to quit collecting the fees. The issue hinges on veto return timing and varying county amounts.
