Nathan Benjamin known as Nate and a Civil War veteran of the 7th Indiana Cavalry died at his North Bluff Street home after years of declining health. Born November 24 1843 in Lagro he served under General Custer, later lived in Monticello and worked in harness business. Survived by six children, a brother and two sisters. Funeral Friday with Odd Fellows and Read Men lodges leading. burial at Riverview.
