The Irvin County Board of Commissioners met for the January session and appointed William Garrett of Prairie Township to fill the vacancy caused by A A McLean's resignation. John Matrix and William Kinney opposed. Garrett and Kinney qualified for new terms. George W. Bassaboun was reappointed as county advisor. Beary Reingardt and A B Cray retained roles. The session also approved county bills and noted a December 30 wedding anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. August Kern.

Fauber Arrested on Forgery Charges in City
Jesse J. Fauber, recently in trouble, was arrested in Indianapolis Sunday and brought here by Sheriff Ben Price Jr. He faces three forgery counts from a grand jury indictment and likely trial at February term. He was jailed until Monday night when released on bond signed by his father and Jacob Timmons. Fauber, a traveling salesman, had a prior conviction for issuing a fraudulent check with sentence suspended for good behavior.
